| 15 September 2011 Structex Invests in Staff WellnessStructex recently participated in the Global Corporate Challenge, the world's largest and most exciting corporate health initiative. The challenge involved teams of seven to wear pedometers and record their daily step count to engage in a virtual walk around the world for 16 weeks. Recent evidence suggests that young, healthy adults should aim to take 10,000 steps every day. However, the average office worker only manages about 3,000 steps each day. An Australian clinical trial has found that employees who do walk 10,000 steps a day and work out in the gym three times a week can give their employer an extra $2,500 worth of productivity a year. In addition, they can also add five years to their lifespan in the process.
